Masons Kaeli Roman and Louis Browning are ensuring that they will "physically be a part of history" by unearthing stonewalls that are buried and rebuilding it stone-by-stone. This summer the two have been at work excavating a 150-foot stretch of wall along Trail Ridge Road.

The duo completes one sections of the 2,000 foot stone wall each year and find the work to be very rewarding but also meticulous:

"Every rock was shaped by hand," said Roman, showing how the different sizes of rocks fit together almost like a puzzle...We reuse every single rock, and we put it back where it was."
