Artist Brad Burns is showcasing his construction industry-inspired works in the World of Concrete Bookstore in the South Hall. Often photocomposing a number of images or combining sketches and photographs, Burns' work is often compelling and captivating.

Burns has always been interested in finding beauty and symmetry. His career his led him to creating original pieces depicting the construction industry, jobsites, equipment, and construction workers. These award-winning original paintings often juxtapose powerful heavy equipment with the fragility of man.

Often commissioned by contractors for office installations, Burns finds his work very gratifying. "It's funny; they don't want paintings of their kids or dogs; they want their equipment. These folks just love what they do and it makes it so worthwhile when I hang a piece and see their delight," he recalls.

Burns talks about three of his pieces below, the inspiration and the setting he was capturing. For more information, visit
