Flashing Training

Walsh Construction employees experienced “all you need to know” about flashing, including corners, openings, end dams, weep holes, and drip edges, through lectures and hands-on practice at the BAC District Council Training Center in Addison, Ill.

DCTC instructors mocked up a variety of conditions for the Walsh group, including a window sill, foundation, relieving angle, and steel column base. Participants were challenged to cut and fold the flashing around complex geometries, while providing the required overlaps and sealing all joints for water tightness, just like what's asked of bricklayers on a real project.
