How should corners be designed in concrete masonry buildings made of 12-inch rather than 8-inch blocks? The 12-inch width does not work with a running bond pattern of the masonry around the corner.
NCMA Tek 5-9 shows several ways to configure concrete masonry units at corners. In general, these use an 8-inch block with a filler block, which allows the bond pattern to continue around the corner with minimal cutting.
