Could new research help to prevent earthquake damage? According to

Taiki Saito and colleagues at CISMID – National University of Engineering in Peru and Building Research Institute – conducted shaking table tests to investigate the dynamic behavior of unreinforced masonry walls.

They tested two different samples – one c-shaped masonry wall structure with a wooden floor slab and one without – and noticed several differences in the resulting damage.
