The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design’s (LEED) new commercial construction system’s success is running counter to general business activity. In the past four years, as most commercial construction has been steady or declining, the number of LEED-certified buildings increased. There may even be more because many owners who build green do not participate in the USGBC accreditation process.
