Dean McKenzie, deputy director of OSHA's Directorate of Construction, spoke recently at the 2015 Remodeling Leadership Conference. Worker safety and new regulations were among his top talking points.He highlighted the good news – overall jobsite fatalities are down – and focused on areas for improvement. In 2013, the most recent year for which statistics are available, there were 828 fatalities on construction jobsites. He also discussed a new final ruling regarding confined spaces and the agency's 2015 National Safety Stand-Down campaign.
