The 4th annual Telehandler Skills Challenge will give the country's best operators the opportunity to demonstrate precise driving skills, accurate lifting and placing abilities, overall productivity, and observance of safety procedures. The contestants will navigate their telehandlers through a closed course set up to represent an actual jobsite in one of the outdoor lots at the Las Vegas Convention Center during the World of Masonry/World of Concrete, Feb. 2 - 6.

The competition is spread across three days. The first stage involves picking and placing planks on three sawhorses. Stage two includes simulated picking and placing a load on a scaffold 35-ft up. The five operators
from the first two days with the highest scores return on
the third and repeat the course to determine the winner.

Jason Hershberger, Hershberger Steel Erectors, Abbeville, S.C. won the 2008 contest. His prize was a $15,000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle
