Fastest Trowel on the Block and Masonry Skills Challenge Winners.

The masonry industry’s best journeyman masons and apprentices returned to World of Concrete for the Mason Contractors Association of America’s (MCAA) Fastest Trowel on the Block and Masonry Skills Challenge competitions.

Jose Noe Martinez and tender, Heriberto Estrada, of Stone Cold Masonry in Phoenix, Ariz., won first place for Fastest Trowel on the Block.

Jose Soto and tender, Israel Mendoza, of Sargon Masonry in Phoenix, Ariz., won second place, and returning 2015 champs Arcadio Armenta and tender, Guadalupe Aragon, of Sutter Masonry Inc. in El Mirage, Ariz., placed third.

Top honors in the Masonry Skills Challenge went to Chaz Tomberlin of McGee Brothers Co. in Monroe, N.C. (First Year); Heath Maclean of WASCO, Inc. in Nashville (Second Year); and Lane Mullis, also from McGee Brothers Co. (Third Year).
