Finding additional brick capabilities and inspiring new applications are the key reasons behind the development of a recently introduced exhibition at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., which is America’s premier cultural institution dedicated to exploring and celebrating architecture, design, engineering, construction, and urban planning. "Masonry Variations," sponsored by the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC) and the International Masonry Institute (IMI), push classic materials – brick, stone, and terrazzo, plus aerated autoclaved concrete block (AAC) – in different directions to explore potential new uses.
