Residents of the Forest Hills neighborhood in Fairfield, Ala., will finally have the brick wall marking the entrance to the neighborhood repaired, thanks to some young masonry students. According to a report on AL.com:
The brick wall at Aaron Aronov Drive and Ridgewood Avenue was partially destroyed during a car wreck near the end of last year. For months, neighborhood and city leaders have tried to find a way to get the wall rebuilt. City officials found a way last week, providing the materials and giving students in Marvin Ford's masonry class at Fairfield Preparatory High School some hands-on experience.
"It's an opportunity to improve their community and take some pride in it," Ford said Monday as a half dozen of his junior and sophomore students laid layers of bricks.
