Maine's 15th annual Craft Championships gave students a chance to compete, and explore a career in the trades. Approximately 1,200 students attended the event, held in Augusta recently.
Ed McGarrity, of Maine Masonry told WABI TV 5:
"We’re seeing a decline in the amount of trades that are being taught across the state and our goal is to go out to students who may not be considering a career in college;or may not have that college skill that they need and are more hands on, and we found a lot of times that we have students who do really well once they’re exposed to the trade of bricklaying."
