Eight teams competed at The 2014 SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 Regional Competition for the province of Quebec, Canada, and Team Legault won the opportunity to advance to the national event.
Gabriel Legault, Legault Masonry, Gatineau, Québec, worked with tender Maxime Legault. According to to the Mason Contractors Association of America:
In one hour, Legault laid a total of 556 brick. Not only did first place carry the opportunity to compete in the 2015 SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 in Las Vegas for Gabriel, but it also came with a grand prize of $1,000. The SPEC MIX TOP CRAFTSMAN Award went to Kaven Tremblay-Painchaud, also with Legault Masonry, Gatineau, Québec, landing him a $500 prize. Isaac Legault, of Legault Masonry, Gatineau, Québec, finished as runner up taking home a prize of $300. Third place went to mason Cedric Bertho of Masonry Monette & Ste-Croix, Gatineau, Quebec, who received $200.
Legault moves on to the 2015 SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 National competition held in Las Vegas, Feb. 4 during World of Concrete.
