This is a great time of year for sports fans.  Every pro sport seems to be either starting up or winding down. Just last week, I was in St. Louis for a Cardinal baseball playoff game, and then went to the St. Louis Blues season opener. It’s hard to find a matching outfit with red and blue.

The construction season has a similar continuum. Many of you are trying to close your books, and forecast for next year.  Hopefully you’re considering how to make next year better.

World of Concrete happens in January. And now is the time to take advantage of all the early-bird sign-up for events and educational programs. What better way to get all your foremen and estimators back in the groove. World of Concrete provides that needed respite and opportunity to learn from industry experts.

The World of Concrete’s Master Certificate program is an industry accepted recognition that you are back in the groove. This year the WOC Education Program is providing a dedicated track for masonry. There are four seminar courses that will help you increase your knowledge of the recent trends in the construction side of the business. "Building Quality Weather-Resistant Masonry," is new for 2014 and "Hands-On Training: Building Reinforced Masonry" has been reformatted to include more excellent information and hands-on experience.  You can quickly review these classes at

And perhaps just as important, consider entering the Crews that Rock award program. Many of you partake in great volunteer and community projects just because you know it’s good to do. Why not honor your team by entering? Look at the news item I’ve posted on our website to learn the details.
