Business must comply with the employment provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Under the ADA employment provisions, covered in Title I, an employer may not discriminate against qualified applicants and employees on the basis of disability. Employers cannot discriminate against people with disabilities in regard to any employment practices, terms, or conditions of employment. The prohibition covers all aspects of the employment process: application, testing, hiring assignments, evaluation, disciplinary actions, training, promotion, medical examinations, layoff/recall, termination, compensation, leave, and benefits.
